The Forum “Microfinance 2020” concluded its activities a few days ago , organized by the Microfinance Unit of the Central Bank of Sudan, with the participation of all microfinance institutions and banks at the level of Sudan, and many experts and specialists from the public and private sector.
The Forum issued a set of recommendations, the most prominent of which is “focusing on training the human cadre in microfinance institutions, and the work of state portfolios with the encouragement of the Central Bank of Sudan to bridge the gap in wholesale financing in the states, in addition to allocating a specialized department in the National Auditor’s Office concerned with microfinance institutions, and linking the microfinance unit and institutions (Central System), amendment or interpretation of the Microfinance Control Regulations publication. ”
For his part, Mr. Saif Al-Din Berri, Director General of the Microfinance Unit of the Central Bank, stated that the forum will be a platform for organizing the work of the microfinance sector in Sudan, noting that working groups have been formed from a number of departments within the central bank, to carry out preliminary evaluation processes for microfinance institutions At the Sudan level to highlight the results of this evaluation to correct its course.
