Al-Rajhi Group of Companies and Investments has launched, within the social responsibility programs, a convoy of medical and food aid for the northern and the River Nile states under the patronage of the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Sudan Ali bin Hassan Jaafar and the honoring presence of Major General Abdul Mahmoud Mahmoud, Governor of the River Nile State and Major General Mohamed Mohamed Hassan Al-Saouri, Governor of the Northern State and Dr. Mubarak Al-Fadil, head of the Umma Party.
The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Sudan, Ali bin Hassan Jaafar, stressed that the Al-Rajhi Company convoy is a model of social responsibility programs for Saudi companies investing in the Republic of the Sudan, praising the efforts of the Government’s Sovereignty Council, the Northern State, and the Nile River in overcoming the progress of Saudi investment projects. He confirmed that they receive all appreciation From government agencies affirming the Kingdom’s keenness to boost investments in Sudan in accordance with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince, to encourage investments in the Republic of Sudan. The ambassador expected more Saudi investments in all aspects of development in the fields of agriculture, industry, minerals, infrastructure and others.
For his part, the Governor of the River Nile State, Major General Abdel Mahmoud Mahmoud, said that the support that was provided was not surprising from the company which keeps assiduous to present generous aid for the Sudanese nation, praising the great role that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been playing in supporting Sudan in crises and within which comes the great role carried out by the Al-Rajhi group of companies in the state.
In the trend, the northern governor, Major General Mohammed Al-Hassan Al-Saouri, praised the advanced and distinguished relations that link Sudan and the Kingdom, praising the efforts of the Saudi embassy in Khartoum and its ambassador in sponsoring and providing projects and programs and medical and humanitarian assistance to their brothers in Sudan, northern and the Nile River states to help in confronting and containing the Corona pandemic which effected most of the world. Considering the initiative and rapid response of the company as evidence of the leadership of the Kingdom and its institutions for humanitarian efforts and its continuous endeavor to provide assistance to those in need in all countries of the world.
He said Sheikh Al-Rajhi’s investments are a model of supportive investments for local communities. He continued, “We assure our people in the northern and the River Nile states that we will continue to support and guard these projects to develop and strengthen them.
It is noteworthy that the convoy set out for th targeted states after its inauguration at the Saudi embassy headquarters in Khartoum .The convoy contains medical assistance that includes 1,385 small respirators in par between the two states and two large respirators one for each state and 20 remote thermometers 10 per state in addition to 2,100 thermometers (below The tongue), 40,000 sterilizers, 40,000 masks, 40,000 gloves, 10,000 medical shoes covers , 10,000 headgear for medical personnel, 820 protective clothing for medical personnel, as well as 300 tons of wheat for the northern state and 300 tons of wheat for River State Nile.
